Windmöller & Hölscher opens Show Room in Taicang, China, featuring CONVERTEX SLC 120 PP woven bottomer
WINDMOELLER & HOELSCHER (Taicang) Co., Ltd. welcomed more than 150 customers and partners to the open house at its premises in Taicang near Shanghai. During Chinaplas 2018 the open house celebrated the inauguration of a new show room for woven PP machinery featuring the most modern CONVERTEX SLC 120.
Windmöller & Hölscher spearheaded many innovations in woven PP. One of the fundamental devel-opments was the CONVERTEX, which heat seals woven PP cross bottom bags and thus eliminates the need of glue for this type of bags. Also today CONVERTEX forms the backbone of the extensive portfolio of Windmöller & Hölscher in the woven PP business. During the last 10 years the output of the bottomer was more than doubled: from 60 bags per minute to 140 in the latest model. This speed represents the...
CONVERTEX CL 140 produces 65 gram woven PP bags at record speed
Windmöller & Hölscher announced yet another milestone in woven PP bag production. The new converTex CL 140 by far exceeds the speed of all other bottomers for cross bottom bags on the market. The first machine is in production since July and successfully produces one hundred and forty 65 gram woven PP cement bags per minute 24 hours a day.

W&H renames BSW Machinery into W&H Machinery
Ten years ago W&H decided to strengthen its presence in the woven PP market by joining forces with BSW Machinery which had been founded by the 3 long term industry experts Thomas Breitenberger, Peter Schmalholz and Günter Wais with the goal to become a leading player in the woven bag machine industry. This goal has been reached and the company has been transformed from a start-up into a global technol-ogy leader. Through transfer of W&H products to BSW and through joint development of a world class production center in the Czech republic BSW was integrated step by step into the W&H Group. Now the next phase in the long term strategic plan will start under the new name Windmöller & Hölscher Machinery.
2005 BSW Machinery was founded in Austria. The founders merged the W&H woven bag industry portfolio with the knowhow of industry experts with the goal to become the leading producer of woven bag equipment. Backbone of the portfolio was and is the bottomer converTex. During the last 10 years the output of the bottomer was more than doubled: from 60 bags per minute to 140 in the last model. This speed represents the technological leadership in this type of equipment.

Cherat runs first converTex CL 140
Right after the presentation of the 65 gram bag, Cherat Packaging Pakistan and BSW Machinery, the Vienna based subsidiary of Windmöller & Hölscher, announce another milestone in woven PP bag production. The new converTex CL 140 exceeds by far the speed of all other bottomers for cross bottom bags on the market. It is now fully oper-ational and successfully produces one hundred and forty 65 gram bags per minute 24 hours a day.
Designed for the specific needs of cement bags the converTex CL 140 represents a special execution of the proven converTex SLC 120. While the SLC 120 is a universal sack bottomer for up to 120 bags per minute depending on the size and format the CL 140 addresses the need for extra fast and efficient production of cement sacks. In order to make the machine even more efficient it was geared for extra low bag weights. Cherat and BSW plan to develop industrial production of bag weights below 65...
W&H woven PP subsidiary BSW expands sales and production
BSW Machinery, the Vienna based subsidiary of Windmöller & Hölscher, reported strong orders in 2015. Over 20% growth compared with 2014 have resulted in a group approval for yet another building expansion at the company’s production facility in the Czech Republic close to Vienna.
A strong growth in orders is reported by BSW, Vienna. 2015 turned out to show recoveries in some countries where business climate had been affected by political crisis before. Still many other poten-tial customer regions do suffer. However, these areas will certainly require new investments in PP sack production once the crises have been mastered. Therefore, future expectations are positive at the company’s headquarters.
As one further milestone both partners proudly present a game changing new...
50 kg cement sacks weigh only 65g – Cherat and BSW succeed
Cherat Packaging Pakistan and BSW Machinery, the Vienna based subsidiary of Windmöller & Hölscher, are partners since 2010 when Cherat Packaging added PP ce-ment sacks to the portfolio. The close cooperation has led to further investments in the PP sack business by Cherat Packaging and significant technology developments by BSW. This year the joint developments have led to the successful introduction of PP sacks for 50 kg cement with only 65 gram sack weight.
In the global cement industry woven PP sacks are an established flexible packaging solution. The main alternative to PP are paper sacks. Windmöller & Hölscher and BSW as the technology and market leaders in both technologies have been working closely with Cherat Packaging over the last years. Now Cherat Packaging is the leading producer of sacks for cement in Pakistan, both in paper and woven PP.
As one further milestone both partners proudly present a game changing new development – the 65...
converTex SLC 120 for PP block bottom valve bags – highest output and ease of operation
Beginning of 2015, BSW Machinery, the Vienna based subsidiary of Windmöller & Hölscher, broke its own previous production record of cross bottom valve sacks made of woven PP. The first converTex for production of 120 sacks per minute was deli-vered to Sadico in Vietnam. This machine is now in operation for one year and in the meantime several lines have been shipped to customers around the world. The result: highest production output and ease of operation.
The new converTex SLC 120 was completely redesigned around the proven opening station which already is in operation for many years on over thousand paper sack machines at even higher speeds. Adapted to the specific needs of PP fabric the opening station can easily handle the rate of 120 PP bags per minute.
At those high production rates support for the operator by the machine is getting more and more important. In the first process step “fabric unwinding” the operator is now supported by a...
New cement bags allow 20 % less bag weight - LS technology saves on material not on performance
BSW Machinery, the Vienna based subsidiary of Windmöller & Hölscher, presented a fascinating new technology for woven PP bags in its show room near Vienna. The technology combines several developments which together allow the reduction of bag weight without losing any of the performance criteria. Key elements are advanced ex-trusion technology for higher tape tenacity and indexed micro perforation. Reduced weight leads to lower bag cost and improved sustainability.
Various sectors of industry use paper and woven PP bags as proven packaging solution. In both areas Windmöller & Hölscher along with BSW Machinery are leading the technology development for many years, especially in extrusion and conversion machinery. Both of these strengths were combined to achieve a significant technology jump. The new Light & Strong technology (LS) will allow bag producers to greatly reduce their material usage. Critical areas of the bags are made stronger compared to older...
Indexed perforation allows weight reduction of woven PP cement bags
BSW MACHINERY, the Austrian subsidiary of Windmöller & Hölscher, announces a new technology which allows reduction of bag weight through indexed micro perforation. The new nanoTex cyclo allows producers to reduce the weight per bag - without losing strength. Areas of the bag which are more vulnerable than others are exempted from the needed perforation process.
In the cement industry paper and woven PP bags are used as industrial packaging solution. In both areas Windmöller & Hölscher along...
UFLEX Ltd. (India) earns a silver award in the DuPont Awards for Packaging Innovation
Judges were impressed by cement bags produced on W&H converTex
The cement industry in India is the fourth largest in the world, but more than 3 percent of the cement produced is lost in the supply chain. This loss is largely attributed to the cement bags being stored in open environments across the supply chain, making them vulnerable to damages caused due to exposure of cement bags to rain, unpredictable outdoor conditions and extreme climate.
The Flex SafePack is specially designed to provide a barrier to moisture and water from entering into the bag,...
